How long does it take to find a job on Yacht?

Finding a job on a yacht can take a long time… or it might never happen.

That’s the truth most crew won’t tell you. Some fly across the world only to head back home broke and empty-handed.

But you won’t know—unless you work with me.

Here’s the deal: a lot of new crew get burned out fast. They don't get responses, they never get called back, they don’t know where to look for a job or what to say. They spend weeks spinning their wheels, slowly draining their savings, until they finally give up and book a flight home.

But not my crew. They get onboard a yacht within a few weeks.

Why?

Because if you’re marketing yourself correctly, networking smart, and have me in your back pocket every step of the way… it’s just a matter of time.

Find a Job on Yacht with my 3-Step Yacht Crew Formula

Step 1. Hack Your CV (Resume)

You’ve got 5 seconds.

That’s all it takes for a Captain or recruiter to decide if you’re worth calling. It's your first impression.

Most new crew mess up their CV thinking their experience isn't good because it's landlocked. They send a bad CV and then wonder why no one calls back.

But here’s the truth: you’ve got plenty of experience but don't know how to show it.

Worked in a bar? Waited tables? Ran your own salon? That’s gold. Yachting’s about service, pressure, details. And if you’ve got that, you’re halfway in.

I sit down with you and turn that dusty old résumé into a yacht-ready kick ass CV that actually sells you—even if you’ve never stepped foot on a dock.

Step 2: Save $$$ on Certifications

New crew waste thousands on courses they don’t need.

Seriously—$5,000+ gone before they even step on a dock. Why? Because they got tricked.

There are companies out there preying on new crew, selling overpriced “intro packages” full of fluff. They’ll tell you, “You won’t get hired without this.”

Here’s the truth: to start? You only need two things—STCW Basic Safety Training and a seafarer medical checkup (usually an ENG1). That’s it.

Depending on your background and goals, there might be more to help you stand out. But I’ll help you figure that out.

I make sure you only take the courses that actually matter—so you save thousands and use that cash where it really counts: finding your first yacht job.

Step 3. Land the Job Smarter, Not Harder

Most crew have no idea where to start—so they waste time in all the wrong places.

They don’t know where to look. They don’t know when yachts are hiring. So they spam a few online job boards, cross their fingers, and hope something sticks.

It doesn’t.

Finding a job on a yacht is a job. And most crew are putting their energy into the wrong methods.

There are at least 10 ways to get hired aboard—but not all of them work the same for everyone. Without guidance, you’re just guessing.

I work with new crew every day. I know what’s working right now—and what’s a waste of time. I’ll help you cut through the noise, focus on what actually gets results, and make sure every hour you put into your job hunt actually moves the needle.
